Description

Get away from it all...
Sunglow Ranch is a unique getaway that a few have been lucky enough to learn about via word of mouth. Some choose to keep Sunglow a secret for reasons you'll soon discover. Sunglow Ranch was born out of a special love for the wilderness and peaceful surroundings that embrace the Chiricahua Mountains. Here, nature is how it was intended to be; arresting views and diversity of wildlife surround the Ranch in every direction. Whether you're a single traveler, need a getaway for the entire family, or are looking for a great group retreat, Sunglow is the place for an ultimate escape.

The newly built Sunglow Cafe is open to the public seven days a week (by reservation only), serving breakfast, lunch, dinner, afternoon tea and special holiday feasts. This cozy restaurant is the latest and greatest addition to the ranch, receiving rave reviews.

Area attractions include the "Wonderland of Rocks" at Chiricahua National Monument, Cochise Stronghold, Fort Bowie National Historic Site, Museum of the American Indian at the Amerind Foundation, Kartchner Caverns and nearby towns such as Old Bisbee, Tombstone and Agua Prieta in Mexico. These lands are richly woven with history and colorful legends of the Old West.

A birder's paradise, this region is abundant with excellent nesting areas and sightings such as the elegant Trogon, a colorful tropical bird. At nightfall, the dark skies reveal a breathtaking show of constellations. Sunglow has become a favorite destination for serious astronomers. Just a few yards away from the casitas, enjoy a small lake where you can fish (catch and release) for bass, perch and catfish. Sunglow's 400+ acres and scenic mountain region is great for bicycling, hiking or just kicking back. It's even easier to leave city life behind, with the intentional absence of a phone or television in your room. The Community Room does, however, have a phone, TV and VCR, just in case you're close to a melt down!

This southeastern region of Arizona is a year-round oasis. Find broad sweeping valleys, rolling plateaus, towering volcanic rock formations and massive stone columns, as well as thick Oak-Juniper groves and cool Pine forests. The climate is remarkably cool in the summer and amazingly comfortable in the winter. Summer brings cool breezes and monsoon rains, while winters are warmed by the intense Sonoran sun. Sunglow Ranch, in the foothills of the Chiricahua Mountains, rests at an elevation of 5,300 feet, with the mountains behind climbing to elevations of up to 10,000 feet.

Sunglow Ranch is in the heart of Arizona History - Geronimo and his band of Apaches roamed the Chiricahua Mountains creating havoc among the white settlers as Cochise reigned over the Dragoons to the west. While the Earp Brothers rode “hell bent for leather” with Doc Holiday at their side trying to bring law and order to the unruly west, Johnny Ringo, The Clantons and many others tried to write history their way. Today ghost towns dot the region, bringing a glimpse of the Old West into the hearts of those who wonder, “What was it really like back then?”

The Chiricahua Mountains, “land of the standing rocks”, climb to elevations of 10,000 feet. Towering volcanic rock sculptures and massive stone columns - some of the most spectacular geological wonders in the world - envelop thick Oak-Juniper and pine forests. The area offers a great array of activities: birding, hiking and rock climbing, bicycling and star gazing, plus day trips to nearby attractions and towns.

...where the universe meets the earth.
