Kayaking
Small Hope Bay Lodge has four ocean kayaks free for your use, plus some suggested trails to take.
Snorkeling
Small Hope offers opportunities to snorkel from shore. Rent some snorkel gear or bring your own, and take a pamphlet from the lounge on places on site to snorkel from shore. You can also explore Davis Creek where you can see juvenile fish hidden amongst the mangroves. Snorkel the reef on a morning boat trip. Depending on the make up of guests of divers vs snorkelers, there may be a snorkel boat that will explore two snorkel sites or snorkelers and divers accompany one another on the boat where the boat first heads to a dive site and then onto a shallow dive site where snorkelers and divers can hop on in and explore the third largest barrier reef system. The staff has great knowledge of the types of fish that roam the waters, so feel free to ask them about the wondrous fish you see on your snorkeling adventure.
Windsurfing
There is a windsurf on the beach that guests can use at their leisure. The windsurf is for experienced people. There are no lessons at this time.
Guided Nature Tours
Small Hope has four guided nature tours available. You can inquire in the office about rates and availability. The tours do not operate on a set schedule but on the interest of guests. There are books in the lounge area with details of each tour. This is a great way to see and learn more about the culture and people of Andros Island.
Nature Trails
Small Hope has a series of walks designed to take guests through the bush and along the mangroves. Books have been created and some of the plant life has been tagged so guests can easily identify them. Two guided eco-trips to the inland blue holes and mysterious North Andros are also available for a nominal fee.
Diving
There are more than 60 dive sites on the regular Small Hope Bay Lodge schedule, including colorful shallow reefs, coral gardens, wreck dives, breathtaking blue holes and stunning wall dives at the edge of the continental shelf, where the Tongue of the Ocean plunges to 6,000 feet.
