Description
Welcome to the River Dance Lodge - Idaho’s Outdoor Adventure Resort River Dance Lodge guests find a warm, welcoming atmosphere in a place of spectacular natural beauty. There’s inspiration and magic in their beautiful, handcrafted log cabins that celebrate the spirit of the American West and provide comfortable, private accommodations. Healthy, restorative and delicious meals are served in the Syringa Cafe, an easy walk from your cabin.
At River Dance Lodge you can experience an outdoor vacation resort like no other. You’ll find plenty to do with hikes in the nearby forest, fly fishing, drift boat fishing, whitewater rafting, mountain biking, canoe adventures, kayak trips or swimming from white sand beaches in the crystal waters of the Clearwater, Lochsa or Selway Rivers. At the end of the day sooth your body with a soak in your own private hot tub on the deck of your cabin while enjoying a heavenly view of verdant, forested mountains and the gently flowing Clearwater.
Their Vision The River Dance Lodge is a place that celebrates wild rivers, nature and adventure. This wilderness vacation resort is located on the banks of the Middle Fork of the Clearwater, one of the original six rivers designated Wild and Scenic by Congress in 1968, through the national Wild and Scenic Rivers Act. Surrounded by National Forest lands, this Rocky Mountain Resort is adjacent to the 1.1 million acre Selway-Bitterroot Wilderness Area, one of the largest in the nation. It is also close to the Lewis and Clark Trail and an ideal location from which to explore the Lolo Trail and Lewis and Clark history. The pristine and unique location allows the lodge to be a family resort, fishing lodge, summer camp, business retreat center, and wilderness lodge, all wrapped up in one. Family Adventure Camps offer families a chance to go to summer camp together, with all inclusive packages and activities for all ages. This is a nature-lover’s paradise, thick with forests of fir, pine and cedar and dozens of creeks that flow into the three pristine rivers that neighbor the resort - the Selway, Lochsa and Middle Fork of the Clearwater.
Their Mission The location, design and staff foster a secure, comfortable and friendly environment where the lodge hopes your worries will disappear and that your days will be filled with fun, laughter and discovery. This setting invites you to step outside and explore. Smell the ancient cedars. Walk up babbling brooks and perhaps chance upon moose, deer or elk. Listen to the gently flowing Clearwater River and watch mighty salmon jump up nearby Selway Falls. Or hike to a wilderness hot spring, feel moss underfoot and gaze at the star-studded night sky.
Each of the cabins is decorated with character-filled furnishings, local artwork and a small library that all connect you to a particular theme. They have the Lewis & Clark Cabin, the Anglers’ Cabin, the Paddlers’ Cabin, the Woodsman, Naturalist Cabin, Pioneer Cabin, Mountain Man Cabin and the McWhorter Cabin. (McWhorter was an amazing man who spent years getting to know the Nez Perce, recorded their stories and wrote several books on their behalf.)
It is the hope of those at River Dance Lodge that your time at there is more than a vacation. That you’ll have a personal encounter with nature and from this take home a sense of serenity and connection with yourself and your loved ones.
