Description
Welcome to Peter Island, where the sweet fragrances of hibiscus and lilies linger in the air and towering palm trees sway in the seabreeze.
The largest private island in the British Virgin Islands, Peter Island is surrounded by the sparkling waters of the Atlantic Ocean, Caribbean Sea, and Sir Francis Drake Channel. Just four miles south of Tortola, it occupies the fifth largest of 60 islands, quays, and exposed reefs that comprise the BVI. Accessible only by boat or helicopter, Peter Island’s idyllic location makes it a perfect destination for guests seeking a serene and romantic hideaway.
At the heart of the resort, massive date palms usher guests to the harbor’s arrival gazebo and the peaked roofs of the A-frame ocean view cottages. Both the beachfront junior suites and oceanview rooms feature king-size beds, air-conditioning, direct-dial telephones, ceiling fans, mini-bars, mahogany chaises, wicker furnishings and CD players.
20 Beachfront Junior Suites feature a comfortable sitting area, large Spanish tiled bathrooms with Jacuzzi tubs and oversized showers, and a private terrace or balcony with spectacular views of Deadman’s Bay Beach.
32 Ocean View Rooms, housed in two-story poolside A-frame cottages, offer panoramas of Sir Francis Drake Channel from a gracious balcony or terrace. Each features a sitting area, separate bedroom and full bath.
Villa Program and Villa Director
Peter Island recently launched its Villa Program with renovations of its two existing Hawk’s and Crow’s Nest Villas (renovated in 2004) and the development of two ultra luxury Villa Estates that will come in 2005. The Villa program is run by Mark Young, full-time villa director. He comes to Peter Island from the Hotel Viking in Newport, Rhode Island.
All Peter Island Rates quoted are per night and include a Full American Plan (breakfast, lunch, and dinner) and are subject to 17% tax and service charges. - Beverages, tax, and service charge are additional.
- Ocean View rooms have a maximum occupancy of three persons.
- Beach Front Jr. Suites have a maximum occupancy of four persons.
- All Villas are rented in their entirety.
- The three-bedroom Villa includes FAP for up to six persons per night.
- The four-bedroom Villa includes FAP for up to eight persons per night.
- The two six-bedroom Villas include Full American Plan for up to 12 persons per night.*
- The two six-bedroom Villas and the four-bedroom Villa also include a private valet/chef, vehicle, swimming pool and dining room.

Reservation Policy
DEPOSIT POLICY A deposit of three night’s accommodation, plus 7% tax and 11% hotel service charge is due at the time of booking. Deposits may be paid by personal check or credit card (Visa, MasterCard, or Amex.)
Cancellation Policy
Deposits are refundable if the reservation is canceled at least 30 days prior to the arrival date. For two or more rooms, 60 days notice is required. In the event of an Act of God and other force majeure, we would waive the cancellation fees by holding the deposit in escrow for a future visit up to one year from the original travel date. If the guest does not visit Peter Island Resort within one year after the date of cancellation, the deposit will be forfeited. Deposits will not be refunded if arrival is delayed or cancelled due to delayed, cancelled or missed flights or other transportation difficulties. Guests are therefore urged to purchase travel insurance. Please note: these requirements differ during the Holiday Season.
