The Mountain Top Inn & Resort is Vermont’s quintessential four-season resort, located in Central Vermont, just 11 miles from Killington. Majestically set on 350 acres in Vermont’s lush Green Mountains with sweeping views of a pristine mountain lake and an infinite expanse of National Forest, The Mountain Top Inn & Resort offers an endless array of outdoor adventures. Catering to the experienced as well as the novice rider, the Equestrian Center comes alive in the spring, summer, and fall, offering guided trail rides and horseback riding lessons with breathtaking views. Group and individual instruction is available in English, Western, Jumping, and Dressage. Whether you are an experienced rider or new to the saddle, instructors will help you to improve your riding and confidence.

The private beach offers kayaking, canoeing, scenic pontoon boat tours, and swimming. For the avid outdoorsman, fly fishing, clay bird shooting, hiking, and mountain biking are all available on site. Tennis, croquet, or strolling country roads … there’s something for everyone at The Mountain Top Inn & Resort.

Winter is a wonderland, a true playground in the snow. The renowned Nordic Ski & Snowshoe Center, one of the oldest in the United States, offers 80 kilometers of trails (60k groomed) and skating lanes for skiers of all levels. It is part of the Catamount Trail Association’s 300 miles of trail system. Snowshoe tours are very popular with couples and groups. Snowshoe to the “lookout” for the best view of the mountains and lake. Ice skating, sledding, dog sledding, snowmobiling and sleigh rides complete the visit for guests.

The Mountain Top Dining Room offers sumptuous New American cuisine in the refined ambiance of a traditional mountain lodge. Executive Chef Jason W. Evans and his culinary team excel at innovative cuisine using fresh local ingredients.     Reservation Policy

    To confirm a reservation The Mountain Top Inn & Resort requires a deposit equivalent to 50% of the total stay for non-package reservations at time of booking. Package reservations will be charged 100% of the package rate as the deposit.

    Cancellation Policy

    Because of The Mountain Top Inn & Resort's small size, cancellations affects the resort significantly. A last-minute cancellation gives them little chance of booking the cancelled room due to the remote location, thus The Mountain Top Inn & Resort has the following 30 day cancellation policy. Any cancellations or changes that occur within 30 days of arrival will be subject to forfeit of the 50% deposit for non-package reservations and the entire deposit for packages. All refunds outside of the 30 days are subject to a cancellation fee equal to 10% of the total stay.

    Should it be necessary for you to depart earlier than your confirmed departure date, you will be responsible for your entire stay as originally booked.
