   Description

Fonteverde is located amidst the splendid scenery of the Siena hills, in San Casciano dei Bagni, Val d'Orcia - a vast natural park, crossed by the river Orcia spreading to the south of Siena. Feel the strong draw of this destination, which has inspired the paintings of Tuscan artists from the Renaissance to present day. These sweet hills, with the majestic Mount Amiata, where olives groves, vineyards, streams and typical clays combine in an atmosphere of magical harmony, now offer hospitality in the form of this small, elegant Relais hotel.

Outside you will experience peace and nature. Inside offers Italian styling and the art of hospitality. Fonteverde is a Medicean residence restored to its former beauty. It is lavishly decorated with terraces overlooking Tuscany’s fields and verdant hills. Experience a blend of Renaissance aura and present-day comfort in this hotel where luxury engenders relaxation.

The exclusive resort was built in the 17th century by the Grand Duke Ferdinando I de’ Medici amid precious hot springs whose therapeutic properties have been known since ancient times. The resort now offers an extensive spa center with various treatments and medical consultations as well as natural thermal hot waters, seven therapeutic swimming pools, a holistic center and a beauty center.

Offering wonderful views of the surrounding valley, the resort’s elegant restaurant, Ferdinando I, serves an assortment of traditional Tuscan cuisine and a selection of Italian Spa cuisine dishes. Food and wine connoisseurs will also find plenty of restaurants in the local vicinity to whet their appetites.

Guests staying at Fonteverde can truly immerse themselves in the beautiful Tuscan countryside, with its charming medieval villages, vineyards and olive groves. The impressive archeological sites of Sovana and Chiusi are just a short drive away. Outdoor activities include mountain biking, walking tours and horseback riding. The resort is also an ideal starting point for visits to the prestigious wineries of Brunello di Montalcino and for shopping at famous Italian designer outlets.
