Fly Fishing

Eagle River The Eagle River brings together a wealth of opportunites from early season float fishing to year round wade fishing. From winter nymphing with sz 22 midge patterns to blizzard like caddis hatches in early summer and then the epic emergence of Green Drakes (sz 10s and12s!) mid summer, there is always a trout to chase no matter what time of year.
Gore Creek Running through the Vail Valley, Gore Creek presents an intimate, small stream setting for anglers to stalk everything from high mountain brookies to trophy size rainbow and brown trout. The "Gore" offers the angler a wealth of year round challenges. From excellent hatches when the fish will eat anything to the technical aspects of sight fishing nymphs without indicators will surely excite each and every angler!

Whitewater Rafting
The Eagle River is located just minutes from Vail, Beaver Creek and Avon. It winds its way through the Eagle Valley and offers a variety of trips. Starting outside of Minturn is Dowd Chute the locals’ favorite it offers Class IV rapids. Or join them on the Upper Eagle, which offers non-stop action with Class III and IV rapids. The whole family can enjoy the Lower Eagle Section with Class II-III rapids. No matter what section you choose you won’t be disappointed.

Join the Nature Center Hiking Club and spend the summer wandering the hills looking for views, wildflowers and everything else that the high country offers. Every hike goes to a different trail and destination, and all hikes are educational, informative and lots of fun!
