Blue Hole Diving
Belize's famous signature dive location, the Blue Hole. Guests of Blackbird Resort make one trip each week to the site. This is a full day trip with a picnic lunch at Half Moon Caye.

Kayaking
Complimentary kayaks are available anytime at Blackbird. Explore the reefs and mangrove lagoons on your own in the resort’s single and double kayaks. You'll find tie-downs at several excellent snorkeling points along the reef to secure your kayak.

Snorkeling
Snorkeling along the Belizean barrier reef is among the best in the world. Many of the reef areas are shallow and allow for easy access by snorkers. Blackbird Resort provides two boat trips per day to the best local snorkeling sites, one in the morning and one in the afternoon, and these are included in the Snorkel/Vacation package. View sea turtles, Stingrays, groupers, eagle rays, nurse sharks and myriads of brightly-colored reef fish while snorkeling the world's second-largest barrier reef.

Crocodile Encounter
During the Crocodile Encounter at Lamanai, you will observe - and even assist if you wish - as one of the resort's crocodile biologists endeavors to capture, collect data and expand the understanding of the endangered Morelet's crocodile.

Explore Mayan Pyramids and Stone Carvings
Hidden in Belize's mountains are massive Mayan ruins - remnants of an ancient civilization whose pyramids are still among the tallest structures in the country today. The ruins of Lamanai encompass over 700 structures with excavations and reconstructions still underway.
While climbing the temples and touring the ruins you can expect to see spider monkeys, coatamundi, gray fox and many species of tropical birds.

Wildlife Viewing
Belize’s territory encompasses lush rainforest (some 45% of the country is still forested), extensive coastal estuaries and the longest barrier reef in the Western Hemisphere. Wildlife abounds both on land in the jungle and underwater on the extensive marine reef system. Whether your chosen tools of observation are binoculars, cameras or scuba and snorkeling gear, you’ll never run out of fascinating adventures into Belize’s natural world.

Jungle Excursions
Many guests prefer to combine their stay at Blackbird Caye Resort with a few days exploration of the Belizean rainforest, basing out of a comfortable and charming jungle lodge. Two main types of packages are offered, The Naturalist and The Adventurer. Both combine a half-week at Blackbird Resort with a jungle lodge deep in the rainforest.
The Naturalist is geared towards nature enthusiasts whose primariy interest is birding, wildlife watching and learning about the complexities of the rainforest. Choose the Adventurer if your interests lie more in exploring trails, caves, kayaking and ancient ruins.

Turneffe Atoll
Turneffe Atoll is the closest to the mainland of the three atolls in Belize. Unlike the outer atolls, Turneffe is unique. It is not a ringlet of sandy islets like Lighthouse Reef and Glover's Atoll, but is instead nearly covered with thick green mangrove and a shallow lagoon. The huge juvenile nursery in the lagoon mangroves, shallows and mangrove lined coastal mainland provides a continuous flow of marine species in sizable numbers.
|
Volleyball
Guests and staff can drum up a game of volleyball at day's end.
|
Sunset Canoeing
During your stay at Lamanai Outpost Lodge, strike out across the lagoon in exploration of Dawson's Creek and its surrounding flood plains, islands and savannah. Keep an eye out for manatees, otters, crocodiles and endemic parrots to name but a few.
|
Beach Combing & Relaxing
Walking the beach - with more than a mile of shoreline to explore, Blackbird Resort offers plenty of chances for solitude.
