Breakfast at Casa Laguna
Breakfast at Casa Laguna Inn is a very important part of the experience. The philosophy that Chef Josh Roberts brings to the food he prepares at this Laguna Beach hotel echoes that of the Slow Foods Movement, of which the owners of the Casa Laguna Inn & Spa are members. Chef Roberts maintains that food is at its best when the integrity of the ingredients is maintained and their inherent tastes/flavors are simply enhanced. He imposes the "100 mile rule" for almost all the ingredients he uses. He states, "use the abundance of what is grown, caught, or harvested within 100 miles of Laguna Beach to ensure the best flavors and food experience."

Leading the creation of the culinary masterworks of art at the Casa Laguna & Spa is Chef Josh Roberts. Chef Roberts was introduced at an early age to the outstanding, abundant natural resources available in his native Southern California.

Like most great chefs with a passion for food, Josh started as a dishwasher in a well known, successful restaurant so he could "learn from the best" starting at the bottom.
Inspired by the ingredients he finds at the local marketplace and working with organic farmers, artisans and fishermen in the communities surrounding Laguna Beach, CA, Josh carries on the tradition of the Slow Foods Movement at Casa Laguna. His goal is to make breakfast at Casa Laguna a "fine dining" experience with rich, complex tastes and beautiful, unique plating that is usually found only in the best restaurants.
While serious about his craft, Josh brings a fun loving spirit and infectious smile to his work at this Laguna Beach hotel/bed and breakfast. He frequently says, "Food is fun! Keep it that way!"
