Altos de Chavon
Wander through this 16th century replica of a Mediterranean village perched high above the Chavon River. Enjoy the grandeur of days gone by as you stroll the cobblestone streets and survey the superb craftsmanship of yesteryear. Quaint shops, exclusive boutiques, art galleries and an archeological museum are just a sampling of the beauty that is Altos de Chavon.

Fishing
Grab a friend for a half or full day of deep-sea fishing. Land wahoo, dolphin, tuna, kingfish, sailfish, marlin and barracuda, which are all plentiful in local waters. Fresh water fishing, a trip that winds through lush tropical vegetation, tall cliffs and palm trees down the Chavón River is also available. Though fresh water may seem like less of a challenge, weekend warriors should take heart; near world-record snook have been caught in the Chavón. The three-hour excursion includes the river guide, tackle, bait and sodas.
For those interested in photography, the two-hour river tour is a scenic ride with superb views including some Hollywood highlights.

Equine Energies: Riding and Polo
Dozens of horses including 15 for jumping and over 80 polo ponies fill the stables at Casa de Campo, which makes finding the proper pony as easy as a trail ride. Scenic romps include a one-hour golf course ride, a two-hour ride through tropical trails by the Chavón River and two three-hour advanced rides; one through sugarcane fields to the cane-cutter's village and the other a ride outside of the main resort at Rancho Peligro (three days notice is required).
Expert staffing is on hand for lessons in English or Western-style riding, jumping, dressage and polo. Guests of Casa de Campo may also request instruction in grooming techniques, rodeo stunts or sign up for a hilarious game of donkey polo. Private guides can be arranged for individuals or groups.
For young children, rides are available on Anita, Juanito and Miguelito, the center’s three ponies. Special private trail rides can also be arranged.
If you’re seeking the thrill of polo, the Casa de Campo facilities are among the best in the Caribbean. Consisting of three playing fields, one practice field and the largest string of polo ponies under a single brand in the world, there is no place better to enjoy this rigorous and engaging sport. Equipment, group instruction and personalized training are available for beginners and medium-goal players. Guests may hire ponies for stick and ball tournaments and families can compete against each other in matches held each week.
Regular polo matches are played throughout the week during the season, which begins in early November and ends in April. Domestic cups and international tournaments are organized during the season and all teams are encouraged to enter.
Please note: Long pants and closed shoes are required to ride at the center. Children must be over seven years old or have prior riding experience.

Tennis
The unique beauty and luxury of the La Terraza Tennis Center is inescapable as you sit perched above the 13 private har-tru courts, ten of which are lighted for night-time play, gazing at the resort below and the Caribbean Sea beyond. The 70+ member staff here caters to the needs of each guest with insightful individual instruction. Equipment is available if needed, along with junior pros and pros for volleys and/or private lessons.

Stroke, Dive and Splash Around
In addition to the beautiful private Minitas Beach, in the resort's main area discover their famous, fun-filled dual-level pool with cascade, swim-up bar and convenient snack service; and a children's pool for the kids to splash around. Those on deck can lounge around under the palms or tuck into white tents for shaded relaxation. For those who want to workout, adjacent to the main pool, there's a rectangular pool for laps!

Island Hopping
On the archipelagos of the Dominican Republic romance and blissful fun can be yours. Sail to the nearby Catalina Island and enjoy it’s white sand beaches and pristine blue waters. The Sunset Sea Cruise, a private charter, is a two-hour catamaran ride for you and your loved ones to experience the spectacular Caribbean sunsets. The Chavón River Cruise aboard the charming old world “River Princess” or “Empress Lily” paddleboats is an evening tour that gets you upclose and personal with the beautiful winding Chavón River. Water Sports
On Casa de Campos' exclusive Minitas Beach, guests can enjoy a sea of water sports. Choose from kayaks, hobbie cats, windsurfers and paddleboats.
Special arrangements can be made for anglers, snorklers or those guest that wish to SCUBA dive.

Shooting for the Sun
In 1984, Casa de Campo's owners and management made a conscious decision to detour from its classic, meticulous care for the grounds, to grow a dense mesh of foliage over 245 acres to create the most comprehensive shooting facilities in the Caribbean. In 1986, Casa de Campo's Shooting Centre came to life simulating true in the wild shooting experiences for shooters of all ages and skill levels.
The 110-foot red and white tower is the focal point of this facility that features true to life hunting simulations, pigeon rings, as well as an airy clubhouse with a lush tropical African-themed ambiance. For the less adventurous, but are parched for a drink, throw back a beverage at Michael’s Bar, a wonderful compliment to a day on the range.
The Shooting Center has recently become home to a dog training facility and kennel. Here the staff trains dogs from all over the world including Spain, London, Latin America and the United States. Puppies can be found for sale on occasion, so be sure to inquire when you stop by.

The program's are supervised by friendly experienced counselors and include lunch.
Nannies’n Casa act as mother's helper while you pursue your own action or quiet time.
