San Galgano (Deluxe Room)
The Abbey of San Galgano is essential to the history of Borgo Santo Pietro and dominates the neighboring landscape. It is this ancient ecclesiastical past that has provided the inspiration for the gold and purple ambiance of this room.

And at night sleep peacefully in the king-size hand-carved Rococo bed. Within the bedroom is a free-standing claw-foot bath from where you can enjoy the view or gaze into the fire.

Here views are of the fountains and mountains, with two pedestal sinks and an ornate chandelier. The name Santo Pietro has religious connotations, but also is translated as 'holy rock' and it is perhaps apt that the main suite should be the cornerstone of Borgo Santo Pietro. This suite is ideal for honeymooners and is the most regal of all.

Rinaldo Pievano di Sociano (Suite)
In 1252 Rinaldo Pievano di Sorciao held court at Borgo Santo Pietro and is famous for selling their church, St. Pietro e Cellole, to the Abbey San Galgano. It is this illustrious former local resident who has inspired the only ground-floor bedroom at the villa, which has direct access through French doors to the courtyard.
Inside the feeling is grand and dramatic, dressed in the Empire-style with gold, wine and black. Beside the vast king-size ornate gilded bed is a Goblin-style mural of a hunting scene and a pair of antique needle-work chairs sit next to a dining table. Above is a spectacular crystal chandelier.
The antique black fireplace is centered in the room and is accompanied by a Regency seating area, complete with original chaise lounge. A gilded claw-foot bath has a view of the fireplace and there is a separate spacious shower room with a potorious marble vanity unit to match the fireplace.

Studio Badia (Junior Suite)
The majestic Badia mountain beside Borgo Santo Pietro lend its name to this cosy room. With its golden hue, library of antique books, globe and 18th century maps there is a sense of history.
The room has a rare deep-red Bordeaux marble fireplace, like those found at the Royal palace of Marseille. Its queen-size, hand-carved bronze gilded bed, upholstered in silk, has a similarly regal quality. With its Ming marble bath and vanity unit - dressed with a period ornamental gold mirror - this suite is decadent, yet comfortable.
One can imagine visiting nobility withdrawing from the main house to the peace of this snug retreat. And it is where best-selling author Titania Hardie has retreated to write her latest novel.
