Swings in Winter
While staying at Blantyre, you'll find there are many activities you can enjoy without ever having to leave the property. With advance notice, Blantyre's staff is happy to help schedule lessons and appointments or arrange for special requests. They can also assist with other things to do in the Berkshires. Simply call or stop by the Front Desk at your convenience.

Ice Skating
Blantyre has its very own skating rink... actually they flood their three har-tru tennis courts. The ice rink is an absolute joy surrounded always by softly glowing lights and swirling music. A selection of rich hot chocolates is served.

Trails for Walking or Sleigh Rides
For moderate exercise, a mile-long walking trail surrounds the grounds. To help with your exploration of Blantyre's woods and meadows, a map is available at the Front Desk. The trails are a favorite of Ann's father, the senator.
During the winter, enjoy a romantic sleigh ride instead!

Snow Bar-B-Que & Picnics
During the winter season the Snow Concierge can arrange Ice Picnics and Snow Bar-b-ques. Year round, whether for use on the resort's grounds or at Tanglewood, Blantyre is happy to prepare special picnic baskets, lovingly decorated with flowers and ribbons, for their guests. You may take your choice of menus offered by Chef Christopher Brooks.

Cross-Country Skiing & Snowshoeing
Enjoy Blantyre’s trails hugging the perimeter of their 117 acres of lawns and woodlands. A Snow Concierge is on staff to assist you.

Croquet Lessons
Two of the most beautiful championship bent grass croquet courts are available to guests. Smooth soled shoes are a must and whites are strongly recommended. Shoot a few hoops for fun or arrange for lessons from Blantyre's instructor through the Front Desk.

Swimming, Tennis & Golf
The spacious heated outdoor pool (75' by 28") is beautifully situated beside the "potting shed" spa. It is open during the "not too cold" months... generally May through October.
Four Har-Tru tennis courts are also available to guests. Proper tennis shoes and dress, whites preferred, are requested. Tennis rackets are available at the Front Desk. Should you wish to improve your skills or book a game, Dan Robbins, Blantyre's teaching professional can assist you.
While not part of the resort's property, the 18-hole Cranwell Golf Course and School are a stone's throw away from Blantyre. Please contact the Front Desk Staff at Blantyre for assistance.
